Art Stays is one of the most important festivals of contemporary visual art in Slovenia and this part of Europe. It has been showcasing the latest works of Slovenian and foreign contemporary artists since 2003, inviting renowned artists (for example Ai Weiwei or Yoko Ono), who have already exhibited in famous galleries and biennales, as well as and up and coming creators.

What a city bursting at the seams! A traditional public event that is organised every year in cooperation with Ptuj restaurateurs, hoteliers and bars.

2,000 years ago, Ptuj was a mighty city: first a military outpost, later an important trade and craft town.
During the Roman Games, Ptuj turns into the Roman Poetovio: the city is occupied by gladiators, legionnaires, senators, vestal women and other Romans, who prepare one of the largest presentations of the Roman period in this part of Europe.

Music aficionados will love the festival. It has evolved into an important European festival over the recent years, and earned its place on the world map of music festivals. Every year the festival features a number of events and performances by classical, jazz, world, vocal, and instrumental musicians.

Days of Poetry and Wine is the largest international poetry festival, which brings together the best poets and artists from all over the world and the best Slovenian wines in the charming old town of Ptuj. All festival events are held in Slovenian and English, which is why the Days of Poetry and Wine have gained a loyal domestic and foreign audience over the years.

The Ptuj Folk Music Festival is the oldest and most prestigious event of its kind in Slovenia. It was first performed in 1969.
Ensembles compete in two categories: classical quintets and other ensembles. At the festival, each ensemble participates with two new compositions that have not yet been played publicly or released on sound recordings and with unpublished texts. An expert commission, appointed by the festival organizer, selects performers from the registered ensembles and evaluates them at a public audition.

Experience history with groups that preserve the tradition and culture of the Middle Ages. They come from near and far, from Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia, Austria and the German twin city of Burghausen. The medieval market comes to life in the city. The event is enriched every year by an art colony, awarding of awards to winemakers and music on magical musical instruments at the castle. The program begins with a group walk around the city, which then meets at the Town Square. In the afternoon, there will be games at the tournament area at Ptuj Castle.
