WINE & CULINARY ADVENTURE IN HALOZE

Haloze – wonderful world of hills and culinary delights. The Land of the Thousand Hills, one of the seven winegrowing districts of the Podravje wine-growing region, is characterized by highly mottled and steep hills on sunny locations that extend all the way from the Dravinja River to the Slovenian-Croatian border.

During our Wine & Culinary Adventure in Haloze, we will first visit Wine Museum with ethnographic collection. There we will enjoy guided tour of old viticulture tools, household utensils and farm tools which were once used in daily life of Haloze people. After the tour, we will pamper ourselves with traditional culinary specialty from Haloze – gerpa, and enjoy three quality wine samples from local winemakers. After wine tasting, we will continue across Haloze hills to the Winery Arnečič, which preserves tradition of baking bread in rustic oven, which was once used in almost every household. Here, we will enjoy a real feast from Haloze with home-made bread and cold cuts and together with the winemaker we will enjoy four quality wine samples. We will end our wine tour at the Winery Gorjup, owned by a very ambitious and young winemaker Nejc Gorjup, who is already boldly facing the challenges in winemaking. Gorjup wines can be described as dry and full-bodied with rich, complex and well-rounded flavor. Winery Gorjup has also specialized in wines of special quality, which are very popular among lovers of sweeter wines. Guided tasting of five quality wine samples follows, together with home-made bread and local cheese.

The final price of a wine tour depends on the departure date, the number of participants and the content of the program, which can be adjusted as desired by the group.

Personal consumption and activities outside the program, Health insurance and cancellation fee (without cancellation fee up to 7 days before arrival date, all tours cancelled 7 days or less will be charged 50% of the cancelled reservation value, cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled tour or no show will be charged 100% of total amount).
