Route 3: DRAVA DOUBLE LOOP

An easy route along and by the Drava. The route will take you along the River Drava, through the Turnišče and Šturmovci parks, and then back to Ptuj past Terme Ptuj and along the beautiful country and side roads around Vurberk.

• Ptuj Castle: One of the most magnificent castles in Slovenia that houses exceptional collections of the Ptuj – Ormož Regional Museum.
• Panorama archaeological site: An archaeological site with abundant remains of Roman Poetovio, which now serves as the town’s promenade.
• Ptuj Ring: A ring that will frame your unforgettable photo memory of Ptuj.
• Forest Beach: A green spot by the Drava River with an amazing view of Ptuj’s old town.
• Ptuj Lake: The largest Slovenian perennial lake is also one of the most attractive ones. Over 230 bird species can be found nesting in the protected area around the water.
• Turnišče castle and park: This renaissance mansion with baroque facade is surrounded by a park and woods with paths leading to a pond.
• Šturmovci landscape park: An educational trail that will take you through the natural beauty and history of the area. The trail is four kilometers long and takes two hours.

• Duplek gravel pit: Wakepark and waterpark
• Vurberk Castle: Castle ruins with a stunning view of the Dravsko Polje plain.
• Miklavž ponds: The ponds located close to the old village center have a well-maintained footpath running around them.
• Starše pond: This pond is located in the village of Starše, right next to the Drava River.
