The Old Glassworks has always been an important cultural hub. Along with the nearby Vrazov Trg, it is an invaluable space for the town of Ptuj and the people who live and work there.

YOUTH AND CULTURAL CENTER

The Old Glassworks is home to a youth center, which offers regular activities and programs, as well as a day center. The youth center organizes various events, such as concerts, workshops and lectures, as well as youth, social, and cultural programs.
With the day center, young people also got a space where they can safely spend their free time.

VENUE RENTAL

With its renovated, modern infrastructure, the Old Glassworks has not only gained a new look, but also new spaces that can be rented by external users:

• large hall (for 150 people),
• small hall (for 80 people),
• vaulted hall (for 30 people),
• basement (for 30 people), and
• attic (for 50 people).

The halls are designed as a flexible space that can be adapted to meet different needs.
The small and large halls can be opened up to the courtyard, allowing the audience outside to see inside.
The rehearsal rooms in the attic can be joined together to create larger rehearsal spaces.
Thanks to their design, the halls can be used for a wide range of activities: they are rented out to various users and regularly host lectures and workshops, training sessions, courses, symposiums, conferences, dance and theater performances, exhibitions, and concerts.

Awards

We are extremely pleased and proud that the project to revitalize the Old Glassworks, Vrazov Trg and the surrounding streets has won several awards:

• The 2023 International Piranesi Award
• Award in the Back to the Roots category at the 2023 Balkan Architectural Biennale (BAB 23)
• The 2024 Golden Pencil for outstanding realization
• The 2024 Cohesion Trends Silver Commendation for projects with the greatest impact on the local community
• Honorary recognition at the 24th Salon of Architecture Novi Sad (2024)
• The 2025 Plečnik Award – Plečnik Medal in the category of realized small-scale architectural projects
