PTUJ AMONG ANCIENT STORIES AND URBAN LEGENDS

Ptuj is a town where history has intertwined for centuries with legends, mysteries, and stories that still live on among its old streets and walls. On this immersive walk, we will discover Ptuj through the tales that have shaped its mystical character and rich past.

The walk will take us from the era of Roman Poetovio through the Middle Ages and later periods, when the town was an important meeting point for merchants, nobles, soldiers, and travelers. We will explore the story of Parzival and the quest for the Holy Grail. We will also touch upon the mysterious meeting of Roman commanders in Ptuj in the year 69, during the turbulent struggle for the Roman throne, as well as the story linking Frederik V of Ptuj and Richard the Lionheart.

Along the way, we will uncover lesser-known city curiosities and urban legends. This is not a classic sightseeing tour, but an immersive journey through history, legends, and the atmosphere of the town, where every corner reveals a new story.
